Rokita is a contemporary Puerto Rican artist based in Pittsburgh who transitioned from a career in art history and librarianship to a full-time studio practice. Inspired by natural textures, mapping, and environmental stewardship, her mixed-media works explore human connections to place while advocating for ecological and social change. She uniquely blends watercolor, ink, radiant gold leaf, and hand-stitched thread to create intricate, map-like topographies designed to inspire joy and visual exploration.
