Just 15 minutes from the city you'll find Shaler. I have lived here my entire life, and I am excited to share a few of my favorite places.
Coffee Time
BeanThru is a drive-thru coffee shop conveniently located along Route 8. My dog Baxter and I are regulars there. We love the friendly staff, all of their fun latte creations, and Baxter loves the dog treats. To top it off you get a tasty chocolate-covered coffee bean with your drinks! One of my tried and true drinks from here is a dirty chai.
Breakfast Bites
New to Shaler is Three Brothers Bagels and they are sooo delicious! Whether you're looking for a breakfast sandwich or to grab a dozen bagels it's worth checking out.
Parks N'at
Fall Run Park is roughly a 7-mile drive from the city, and features an 18-foot waterfall! This 1.4-mile hike runs along the creek and past the beautiful waterfall. the park is dog-friendly, and also includes a covered picnic area and playground for the little ones.
Local Brews

Acrospire has been in Shaler for around 6 years. We are lucky they recently moved locations, and now have a tap room available for guests to gather. The oatmeal stout pairs perfectly with some chocolate ice cream! Love trivia? You're in luck on Thursdays to test your knowledge during their trivia night. If you are hungry, run up to Frank's and grab some pizza to bring with you. Learn more about their events, including food trucks, here: events.
Garden Center
McTighe's Garden Center is open from April until December. The garden center changes with the seasons. In the fall there is a large variety of pumpkins and gourds along with produce, including apples, and scrumptious cider from Dawson's Orchards. There is also a large selection of houseplants. Every time I'm there I'm tempted to buy another!
See yinz in Shaler!
