Welcome to My Neighborhood: Bellevue

Welcome to My Neighborhood: Bellevue

Bellevue is Pittsburgh's best-kept secret. The neighborhood is nestled just beyond the city limits, yet conveniently within a mere 15-minute drive to downtown. It has the allure of a quaint small town, yet seamlessly offers a range of urban amenities at your fingertips. From its very own local brewery and live music scene to its charming diners, shops, and parks—Bellevue truly encompasses the best of both worlds.

Eats

The main business district on Lincoln Avenue hosts many delicious local restaurants. I regularly enjoy a bite and local brew at Lincoln Brewery and when the weather is nice, my dog can join me at their outdoor seating.

For an evening of live music, I'll go to 565 Live, where they have a speakeasy and stage downstairs. The crowd is always friendly and I love listening to the local talent.

When you wake up and crave a classic diner breakfast, Joe's Rusty Nail has you covered. It feels like you are getting served in grandma's kitchen and you'll be ready for a food coma nap afterwards.

No town is complete without a delicious local bakery. Lincoln Bakery offers cakes, donuts, cookies, pastries, bread and more. Nothing beats a warm soft donut on a Saturday morning and Lincoln Bakery will not disappoint. Every holiday they have custom orders filling up the floor and a line out the door--don't forget to get your order in early!

Shopping

One of our local makers that we carry, PSquare Scents, has their own storefront on Lincoln Avenue. If you are on the hunt for home fragrances or personal care items, you'll have plenty to choose from at PSquare.

Right off the main street sits The Closet PGH. For vintage graphic tees and sweatshirt lovers, this is your corner of paradise. Although the shop is smaller, you'll manage to spend hours sifting through and admiring the curation of vintage tees.

Bayne Park

At our local park, Bayne Park, the Bellevue Farmers Market runs from June through October every year. It is one of my favorite markets around the city and each year the market offers an array of vendors and food trucks.

Our local public library, Bayne Library, sits in the middle of the park along with a playground for kids. The library offers events, such as story and play times for young ones.

Bellevue has much more to offer, including convenient public transit and several well-attended annual events hosted by Bona Fide Bellevue. Learn more here!
