The approaching summer months have me feeling ready for the good vibes and sunshine. While the summer sun seems far off, we can help bring those good vibes sooner with these watermelon sugar inspired drinks. These drinks are perfect for picnics and relaxing in the sun or shade.
Watermelon Sugar Margarita
A margarita is already a fan favorite, but with watermelon it turns into a fun and refreshing summertime must-have. To make this drink, you will need:
-Around 4 mint leaves
-1/2 oz. agave nectar
-1 1/2 oz. tequila (we recommend Blanco)
-1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
-1/2 oz fresh watermelon juice
-Steel City Salt Co.'s Watermelon Sugar
-Optional: watermelon slice and mint to garnish
In your shaker, add the mint leaves and agave nectar and muddle gently. Once muddled, add in ice, tequila, lime juice, and watermelon juice to the shaker and shake until chilled. Before pouring, rim your glass with our Watermelon Sugar by Steel City Salt! Now you can pour your delicious marg into your glass over fresh ice, and enjoy. For an equally yummy, non-alcoholic version, you can substitute the tequila with your choice of sparkling water or soda!
Watermelon Sugar Slush
This classic drink is perfect for everyone on those hot days, and not to mention super easy to make! There's only a few ingredients needed to make this extra refreshing slush, so we'll just cut to the chase and tell you what they are:
-5 cups of diced, seedless watermelon
-2 tablespoons of Steel City Salt Co.'s Watermelon Sugar (regular sugar can definitely be used instead, but what fun is that!)
-Freshly squeezed lime juice (amount is up to preference)
-1 cup of ice
Luckily for those of us who have already gotten into the watermelon margarita, the rest of the recipe is a breeze. You'll want to add in all of your ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Finally, pour your slush into a chilled glass and serve immediately. If desired, this classic could be made into an alcoholic slush by adding an ounce of your liquor of choice before blending!
