Vacation Gift Guide

Vacation Gift Guide

How to pack Pittsburgh with you on end-of-summer adventures.

We have some fun ideas for you, whether you are beach-bound, headed to a cabin in the Pennsylvania hills, or enjoying a staycation right here in our beautiful city.

Read on for our August gift guide.

Beach House

If burying your toes in the sand while blissing out to ocean sounds is your thing, pack these essentials.

Hopefully, you are lucky enough to have an outdoor shower (or at least a rubber hose).  Bring one of our soaps - like the Himalayan Salt Bar from Arbor House Soaps, or Lovett Sundries Buff & Polish Soap - to make your skin beach-ready.

While on vacation, happy hour can be anytime-o’clock and we think the custom blend salts from Steel City Salts can level-up your cocktail hour.  How about using our shot glass to mix a margarita, and dunking the lime coated glass rim in Maple Jalapeno Blend salt? Salty, spicy, and sweet. Cheers!

Cabin in the Woods

More of a tree hugger? Consider packing these goodies to enjoy the incredible hills and valleys of Pennsylvania.

Our camping-inspired, namesake ceramic mug is the perfect vessel for starting your adventure in the woods.  If coffee is your thing, brew our custom blend from Curly Tail Coffee; these Guatemalan beans have notes of dark chocolate, almond, and lemon.  Prefer tea?  We partnered with Tupelo Honey Tea on our love, Pittsburgh blend.  It looks as good as it tastes, with jasmine, mint, and a bit of hibiscus brewing a rosy hue (and makes a great iced tea too!).

After all the trail hiking and wildflower gawking, treat your feet to our LOVE Hand and Body Cream, custom made by Lovett Sundries. Don’t forget to represent our state with these brass dipped keystone studs from Frost Finery.

Pittsburgh Staycation

We’ve met so many Pittsburghers who pop into our shops mid-staycation.  Time to take a day (or three) off to explore the awesomeness that is Pittsburgh.  Need inspiration?  We recommend a bridge adventure.  Just start walking across the Ohio, Allegheny, or Monongahela rivers, and let the city unfold.

Pack a love, Pittsburgh notebook and pen to jot down discoveries, and a Noramade pouch to hold any small treasures found along the way.

After traversing all 446 bridges - you can do it! - stop at any of our local breweries to rehydrate. If growlers are your thing, our pint glass is just what you need. More into cans? Commonwealth Press Three Sisters Bridge Koozie keeps that beverage icy cold. And don’t forget to bring some Snakeguy spiced pretzels. Have a great staycation n’at!
