Our Neighbors in the Strip

Our Neighbors in the Strip

We have the best neighbors at our new Strip District location! There is so much variety within a short walk from the shop. It has been fun to get out and explore our new surroundings.

need a pick me up

The Strip District has some of the best coffee and local roasters around! We love being so close to so many great java joints.

La Prima has the best flavor of espresso hands down, IMO. I love to grab a cappuccino midday for a little lift in the spirits.

Another favorite is Allegheny Coffee & Tea Exchange. The flavored coffee of the day is especially liked by our dream team.

For a super chic coffee spot to check out, look no further than Cafetano. A must try is their hazy latte made with a hint of Nutella.

Directly across the street from the shop is a traditional and timeless coffee spot, Prestogeorge. Pick up a pound of coffee to go. I enjoy the Mediterranean Blend for whole beans. They also have great flavored coffee, espresso drinks, and teas.

for lunch n'at

It's haarrrrrd to resist eating out for lunch everyday while working in the Strip District. This seems to be the food mecca of the 'Burgh. Check out these local spots to dine or pick up a sweet treat.

Peppi's has awesome subs served on Mancini's buns (we'll talk about the bread later). I love that they offer a wide range of sandwich choices and kid-friendly food items.

Sambok Korean Groceries has a delicious food stand across the street from our shop on the corner. I frequently get a mung bean pancake for lunch from there. It has a touch of spicey goodness.

Colangelo's is AMAZING! Our team orders from here frequently. The Beans & Greens are sooooo good. We also love their Tuscan Salad with the tomato vinaigrette.

Enrico Biscotti Bakery and Cafe is like stepping into the past. The tile walls, brick ovens, and display cases with amazing baked goods delights the senses. The desserts are divine. Enrico Biscotti Co also offers cooking classes and food and wine tours of Italy. Maybe one day...

to take home

I often take home a loaf of Mancini's bread. The Italian loaf is great for sandwiches and garlic bread. I just made some garlic bread to have with our spaghetti dinner, and it was better than the frozen grocery store Texas toast.

While we carry a lot of spices in our shop, Penzey's has a whole store full! Pick up some of their custom blends to try at home when cooking your next meal.

Our next door neighbor and previous occupant of our current space is the Strip staple Parma Sausage. We are so lucky to have them as our neighbors. They make a wonderful sopressata in hot and mild. Pick up a charcutier tray from them for your next gathering.

With so many local businesses in one area, you are sure to find a special treat!
