This summer I spent every Tuesday driving 30 minutes to the love, Pittsburgh Strip District Location. I have enjoyed every second working on different projects for this store. I discovered this internship through an advisor at Kent State University. This was one of a few interviews I had, and after talking with Monica and Kelly I knew this would be the internship for me.
My Summer
This internship has been such an amazing experience. It was the first time I could take things that I have learned throughout my classes I had taken over the last three years and applied it in the real world. I’m so grateful that Monica and Kelly allowed for us interns to explore our interests and show our creativity within the projects. I was able to do trend research and create mood boards, write blog posts, explore different marketing techniques through social media, and create collections on the website. Seeing all of these projects through until the end made me feel so accomplished. My favorite part was seeing those blog posts and collections posted for everyone to see.
Being a part of this team has been so much fun! Thankfully, we got to experience celebrating the 5 year anniversary of love, Pittsburgh! Our team meeting this day made me realize how much Kelly and Monica made everyone feel like a family. Between the celebration and our step contest, I really felt like I was close with everyone!
What’s Next For Me
This August I will be moving to New York City for my fall semester! There I will take a few classes and experience a brand new internship in the city. I am so excited for the opportunity to get even more experience in the industry. After New York City I will take classes in the Spring and graduate in May!
