TELL US ABOUT YOUR BRAND AND WHY IT'S THE BEST:
Corchet strives to make high quality, yet affordable, unique crocheted gifts. My work is known to have a very tight stitch and I love creating a variety of crochet animals.
WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND AND THE STORY BEHIND WHY YOU STARTED CREATING?
I learned to crochet from my Grandma Armela when I was a child, only to pick the hobby back up a little over 20 years ago when I was starting into my career as a field archaeologist. With a lot of travel time and a lot of boring nights in hotels, I was looking for a way to pass the time. Very quickly, I had gifted all my friends and family with crocheted hats and scarves. I eventually fell in love with making crocheted stuffed animals. That’s when I opened up my Etsy shop and since then, I haven’t looked back. Now, as I’m still traveling for archaeology, I love to look for new yarn shops and inspiration for new things to crochet all over. It has also been a real growing experience for me to be able to make, sell, and deliver my crochet while traveling and being in Pittsburgh.
WHAT ONE PRODUCT DO WE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT AND WHY?
You can find my crocheted penguin in Love, Pittsburgh! They are available with either the yellow or blue scarf. Great to support the Pens when it’s a Hockey Night in Pittsburgh!!!
IN THREE WORDS, WHY DO YOU LOVE PITTSBURGH?
