Tell us the story about your brand. Why is it the best?
"Pittsburgh Dog & Frog" is an all-Pittsburgh children's book. The book teaches youth about Pittsburgh in an engaging manner. In this action-packed book, readers tour Pittsburgh with a dog & frog and discover places to visit and new things to learn.
The tale follows a hometown dog named Heinz, as he forms a friendship with a big, yellow, rubber frog who is floating up the Ohio River toward Point State Park.
The story is a lot about the wonders of the 'Burgh. There is even a Pittsburgh Cookie Table in it. There are 14 Pittsburgh attractions that children can explore with the dog & frog.
Read the book and learn:
-- How Pittsburghers know when they can go swimming
-- How the Hot Metal bridge got its name
-- Who was the great Guyasuta
What is your background? How did it lead you to starting your brand?
My professional career includes marketing communications, grant writing, and university teaching. I always wanted to write a children's book. When the COVID-19 pandemic first started, I was missing my dog, Heinz, who passed right before the pandemic. I was thinking about all the awesome Pittsburgh places we visited ... from walking trails to riverfronts. Then, I turned my wonderful memories into a children's book.
