Whether you believe it or not, Fall is right around the corner, meaning the best months for apple picking are almost here: September, October, and November! We sourced 4 local farms for you to take a safe and socially distanced trip with friends or family this year. 

Triple B Farms

For many years, Triple B Farms has been providing memorable fruit picking experiences. Located in Monongahela, PA, this farm is about 15 miles from Downtown. Aside from picking fruit, you can participate in the fun yard activities like meeting the goats, and visit the produce market. Learn more about picking and plan your trip here.

Norman's Orchard

Norman's Orchard has been around since 1958 and is a favorite for fruit picking. The orchard is located about 20 miles from Downtown in Tarentum, PA. It was founded by Robert K. and Sara Norman, who purchased the farm in 1947 with a farm house and a Sweitzer-style log bank barn. Half Crown Hill Orchard

Half Crown Hill Orchard a family owned and operated farm and retail market, offering apples, honey, cider, beeswax products, and other farm related goods. Located in McDonald, PA, this orchard is around 20 miles from Downtown. This is a pay for what you pick orchard and they'll even provide a bag for you!

Soergel Orchards

Last but not least, we have Soergel Orchards who's history of apples dates back to 1850 when a German immigrant by the name of John Conrad Soergel settled on this very spot and began planting apple trees. Located in Wexford, PA, this orchard is about 15 miles from Downtown. You can pick almost any fruit or vegetable you can think of from this farm.
