Cheers in the New Year

Cheers in the New Year

It's that time of year when we toast to a fresh start and have one, two, or a few drinks with our family and friends to ring in the New Year! Here are some of our favorite New Year's Eve beverages.

cocktails and mocktails

If you are looking for some inspiration, The Ultimate Bar Book has every cocktail you could ever dream of making. This is my go-to when I am making a fancy drink. The Bar Book never fails in finding a new drink to mix up and delighting the tastebuds.

french 75

One of my favorite cocktails to make for New Year's Eve is a French 75. You will need gin (one of my favorite locally made gins is Wigle's-Dutch Style Gin), champagne, simple syrup, and fresh lemons. This bubbly beverage is sure to give you the giggles. Try this recipe and serve in our stemless wine glasses.

Swap out the champagne for sparkling white grape juice and the gin for tonic water, and you have yourself a non-alcoholic, fizzy mocktail.

hot toddy

If whiskey is more your cup of tea, sip this classic cocktail served hot. It's also an old remedy for colds and coughs. A hot toddy is simple to make with only 4 ingredients: whiskey, hot water, lemon juice, and honey. Cookie + Kate has a great recipe. Looks lovely in our Rivers Stripe cocktail glasses with a cinnamon sugar rim.

shirley temple

My kids love Shirley Temples; just as I did when I was little (and still do). To make this pink soda, all you need is Sprite or 7UP, grenadine syrup, and a maraschino cherry on top.

glogg

Glogg is a seasonal Nordic warm-spiced drink that can be served with vodka, wine, or cider. It is often paired with almonds and raisins. You can find it at IKEA during the holidays too! Check out this recipe from Wine Enthusiast.

However and wherever you decide to toast to the New Year, we hope you have a magical time with your loved ones. Wishing you happiness and joy in 2022!
