Bouquets & Bees

Bouquets & Bees

Spring is in full-effect in Pittsburgh and we cannot get enough of it! In this blog post, we are going to highlight our new honey products, share a few recipe ideas that use honey, and shout out some local floral shops.

Apoidea Apiary

love, Pittsburgh is now carrying three flavors of Apoidea Apiary honey. We offer Vanilla Bean + Lavender, Rosemary + Knotweed, and Cardamom + Rose Petal. These are the perfect sweeteners for a cup of tea. We challenge you to be creative with these flavors and share your recipes with us!

Apoidea Honey

Apoidea Apiary is located in Cherry Hill and manages between 50 to 80 bee hives. The apiary is Certified Naturally Grown, this certification is the closest an urban apiary can get to USDA organic.

My Fav Recipes w/ Honey

Some of my favorite meals and side dishes involve the same ingredient: HONEY! I love experimenting in the kitchen and honey always seems to pair with the dishes that I create, so I thought I would share:

A new favorite of mine is brewing a pitcher of iced green or black tea, sweetening it with honey then adding lemon and fresh mint.

Potted Mint Plant

The newest addition to my plant collection - fresh mint!

Honey pairs perfectly with so many breakfast foods. Drizzling honey on top of a piece of toast with nut butter and berries is one of my go-to's. It is also a great addition on top of a bowl of oatmeal or blended into a smoothie for an extra sweet touch.

Anytime I make salmon for dinner I always create a marinade that involves honey. My most recent creation is a mixture of lime juice, coconut aminos (or soy sauce), honey, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper.

And of course, I have to include my favorite dipping sauce. A combination of mayo, sriracha, honey, lime, garlic power, onion powder, and chili powder. Trust me, this creates the most incredible sauce for literally anything
