As Commonplace Coffee began thinking about the composition for a Frick Park blend, they asked the team at the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy to provide adjectives, unique to the park. Using their descriptors as a guide when curating the blend components for this coffee. Adjectives like bold and woodsy, our minds turn to certain coffee growing regions and roast profiles that have historically produced these tasting notes. Sumatran coffee tends to have a bold, earthy flavor because they use a distinct “wet-hulled” process. Pairing our Sumatran coffee, Harimau Tiger, with our dark roast, All Day, leads to a bold and wild flavor profile. It was then paired with Divino Niño to add balance and meld these flavors together. To us, the beautiful acidity structure of this Colombian offering exemplifies the liveliness of Frick Park. This is the first offering in a five-part collaborative Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy Blend Series. The five regional Pittsburgh parks will each feature a custom blend designed with the park’s unique attributes in mind. 25% of retail bag profits will go directly to supporting Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy initiatives. Please enjoy this blend as you’re transported to the lively, wild, woodsy, historic, large, and bold Frick Park!
